They are popular here in Savannah. I liked it. It is Chick Lit but very enjoyable. It is the type of book you read to UNWIND. If you have been reading anything really deep this is a good book to unwind and breeze through.

The Beach House by Jane Green

Again Chick Lit. I enjoyed this book and just went with the flow of it. There were twists and turns a plenty but you just have to let it ride out. You see the direction very early on. I would recommend this to a book club.

Thorn in my Heart by Liz Curtis Higgs

HMMM I liked this book. It depends on who I would recommend this to. I know some friends that would love it and others that will hate it. I however enjoyed it. It was interesting in many respects. Religion plays a huge factor in the characters lives and it is interesting to see how they can bend their beliefs to rationalize what they are doing is the right thing. I have the rest of the series lent to me by a friend. So I do want to see it through to the end.

So what are you guys reading?

ReCap of 2009 Books that I Read

The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox by Maggie O Farrell I would give this 2.5 stars

Julie and Julia by Julie Powell...I hated the book and still have not saw the movie

The Time Travelers Wife by Audrey Niffenegger...Was not overly impressed with this.

The Alchemyst by Michael Scott...I would give this 3 stars for my age but probably 5 stars for the young adults who this is written for in the first place.

In Search of Eden by Linda Nichols... I got to thinking about this and discussing some it with my Sister in Law. I mentioned to her that I was NOT in love with the book The Time Travelers Wife. I know everyone loved it and well frankly I feel like the Time Travelers Wife with my husband coming and going in my life. He is never here and I did not find anything at all endearing at all about that book. My Dear Sister in Law pointed out that it was too much like my life and I totally did not enjoy it for that very reason. I got to thinking about that and she is right. Anything that seems to mirror something in my life I do not really give five stars. I find that I enjoy books that take me away from reality right now. However, I enjoy some good old fashion <strike>Erotica </strike> romance novels from time to time.

I guess that is where I am with my reading.

Glamoured

I have been glamoured. OK another Vampire BOOK. Yeah it glamoured ME. I sat looking at my two hundred plus books all around me and nothing called to me. Yep and that is all I have to say about it.

Sookie Stackhouse Series/True Blood

I just finished the 8 books in the Sookie Stackhouse Series that is so very popular right now. I got the eight books for 19.99 and I love a bargain. The books are fast to read. I can see the change in the character from the beginning of the books to the 8Th book. She sort of goes from being a bit insecure to becoming more secure and comfortable with herself. She comes in to her asexuality also. Sometimes I got a little frustrated with the author because I felt like she dumbed the main character (Sookie) down. There are always twists and turns in her love life and I think that is what is going to keep me hooked. I liked her first Love Bill and I Liked Eric because he is such a rebel and I have a thing for rebels! I never did like Quinn at all because of all the BABE this and that. Babe just rubs me the wrong way! I am currently hoping her and Eric get together but I also sort of LIKE SAM her boss.

I am neutral about the books. I can go either way.

I also watched the First Season of True Blood. The series is different enough from the books that at times it feels like you have not read the books. The characters really do not match the characters in the books at all. OK I guess slightly but overall it gives you total different opinions. Watching the Series I am not as fond of Sam as I was in the book. The Eric in the book is probably right now much like the one portrayed on the series. They did pick ONE HOT Actor to play Eric. I pictured Pam to be Younger than the one in the series. It all is just different enough to want to see what happens. The book does not have as much of Jason as the series does and Jason in the series is strange but HOT.

My Husband sat through a couple of the DVD with me and he wanted to know why in the world I was watching this. I explained that I was reading the series. He said it was the worst acted stuff he had ever seen and could not believe I was watching this drivel. I continued to watch it because it actually is sometimes so CAMPY and funny. My Husband has secretly stood in the kitchen watching and laughed at this whole scene when the Character Jason took to much of the V and his privates would not descend to its proper size! I laughed and laughed and well so did my ALL to serious Husband.

It made for a good laugh and some great teasing between my husband and myself. So yeah I will finish watching this too. It is like my addiction to WEEDS, my husband just does not understand it. I find it all funny and entertaining but he however is lacking something in that department.

Now I do have the 9Th book to read but I need to break away from Vampires for a little while and come back to reality. I think it is time for some good old fashion Erotica....no I mean HMMM I do not really know what I mean!

I will look over my collection of books and decide what is next.

Echo in the Bone by Diana Gabaldon

The Outlander Series to me is like the Twilight Series is to many of the Twilight Fans. This book does not have good reviews so if you are a DIE HARD REBECCA fan then do not read this! NO it does not compare to REBBECA by Daphne DU Maurier! That is a classic and is still captivating!

This book picks up 20 years later. It took me on a journey of the imagination. This is not something I would usually pick to read but I got it at a sale for a good Cause. Cancer Research! The main Character is arrested for murder and she basically is being held at a Hospital for observation because she says she is associated with a secret organization that fights evil. The Bad Monkeys.

I was really enjoying the story but then the ending went really fast and it ended all of the sudden. The end came with a twist and then a twist again. Then it is over and sort of anti climatic for me.

I really do not want to give to much away and I think there are people who may enjoy this type of read.

I guess overall it was not bad but not great. It is not a book that I would recommend to all my friends but a few may want to read it.

In Search of Eden

In Search of Eden by Linda Nichols

I have never read anything by this author before but I noticed on the Cover that there was a stamp mark saying Virginia. So upon futher inspection the books setting was a small town called Abingdon Virgina. A hope renewed...Today is your birthday... I want you to know that you are in my heart, as you always have been. I pray for you every day. Ever since that wrenching event, she's been unable to settle down, embrace life. She finds herself starting one adventure after another, trying to forget. But she never can. As she approaches her twenty-seventh birthday, she determines once again to reinvent her circumstances, to start anew. But there's one loose end to tie up first...Joseph North, chief of police in Abingdon, Virginia, has always tried to do what is right, to perform his duty and protect those he loves. He is suspicious of the new woman in town and, checking further, discovers she is a person with seemingly no history. Then he finds a baby picture of his niece in her possession....A story of law and grace, of forgiveness and redemption, of finding joy and rest in a broken world

Julie & Julia by Julie Powell

I want to talk about the Book Julie & Julia 365 Days, 524 recipes 1 tiny apartment kitchen by Julie Powell.

I have had this book on my book shelf since 2007. I was ordering a few books that I wanted from B&N. I was short a few dollars to get my free shipping but I had set a limit of how much I really wanted to spend on books. I noticed that B&N had a clearance section and this BOOK Julie and Julia was $1.99! I read the synopsis and it look like something that I might really enjoy. This person Julie Powell had blogged about her adventures. She was cooking her way through Julia's Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking. OK well I love to COOK and I love to BLOG so I added the book to my order.

I got the order and I read the first few chapters of the book and HATED IT. I could NOT SUFFER through this book and placed it back on my book shelf.

Fast Forward to 2009! I was in Target or Walmart and I noticed this book all over the place. Julie & Julia. It was different from the book I had on my shelf at home. MY BOOK was Hard back and a first edition from 2005. I went over to the shelf and sure enough it was by Julie Powell. I noticed also that there WAS a MOVIE coming out with Meryl Streep as Julia Child.
I thought OK I have that BOOK and it is rather dusty but JUST MAYBE it is worth a second PEEK!

Keeping an OPEN MIND I decided to DUST the book off and READ IT! I mean after all IT is NOW A MOTION PICTURE! I must not have read far enough in to the book to APPRECIATE IT! How WRONG WAS I?

I was not wrong! I totally HATED this book.

Why did I dislike this book? I could write so much but I will try to keep it short. First thing I noticed is that the author wrote in her AUTHOR'S NOTE that SOMETIMES SHE JUST MADE STUFF UP! This was suppose to be about HER BLOG and HER COOKING! Well at least she was honest about saying she just made some stuff up. IT does however make you wonder WHAT SHE MADE UP and WHAT WAS REAL? DID she really cook all the recipes? Did she really go to DC and visit the National Museum of American History to see Julia Child's Kitchen? Did SHE REALLY REALLY LEAVE a stick of BUTTER at the exhibit? That ONE I truly find hard to believe for some reason! IT may be true but then again she admitted that she just made stuff up.

I also feel that the author came across as a whining Diva. The author was all over the place. The book did not really talk bout her blogging as much as I expected. She used the F WORD all the time in the book. It was not really necessary. She talked about her cooking but not in the way I really enjoyed. It seemed much more of a CHORE for her to do this project.

I guess the author did something right or knew somebody with the right connections because she did after all get a book deal and now a movie deal to boot. She quit her job working for all those Republicans she use to work for. O why did I mention the dig about republicans? She takes up some of our time in the book to let it be known that she worked for republicans. Really what did that have to do with HER COOKING or BLOGGING?

I really do not recommend this book! I hope the movie is MUCH better than this book.

I did HOWEVER, like one part of the book. The Author describes a phone call with a reporter that INTERVIEWED JULIA CHILD and ASKED her about Julie Powells's Project. The reporter called Julie to ask her about her thoughts on what Julia Child had said about her. Apparently Julia Child did not think Julie Powell was Respectful or serious about the cooking! I have to totally agree! THIS WAS THE ONE AND ONLY HIGHLIGHT OF THE BOOK!

That is all I have to say and well of course BON APPETIT!

What I am Reading

I am STILL READING THE HISTORIAN. Or let an innocent man die in order to protect a lifetime of lies.

I picked this book up for 99 cents. I went home and checked reviews online about the book and everything gave it good reviews. I decided that I would go ahead and start it because I just needed something different than I had read lately. It was good. NOT LIKE DROP DEAD OVER THE MOON HAVE TO READ IT AGAIN or anything but yes GOOD.

I have books that I will keep and books that I would yard sale. These books had good reviews and I picked them up for 99 cents at my BOOK HOT SPOT. I HOWEVER was not at all that excited over the books. These are two books that I will YARD SALE and not keep for my collection. Before he can show them to Nicholas Brisbane, the private inquiry agent he has retained for his protection, Sir Edward collapses and dies at his London home, in the presence of his wife, Julia, and a roomful of dinner guests.
Prepared to accept that Edward's death was due to a long-standing physical infirmity, Julia is outraged when Brisbane visits and suggests that Sir Edward has been murdered. It is a reaction she comes to regret when she discovers the damning paper for herself, and realizes the truth.
Determined to bring her husband's murderer to justice, Julia engages the enigmatic Brisbane to help her investigate Edward's demise. Dismissing his warnings that the investigation will be difficult, if not impossible, Julia presses forward, following a trail of clues that lead her to even more unpleasant truths, and ever closer to a killer who waits expectantly for her arrival.

This book is 509 pages and I was looking for SOMETHING different right now. Heck, she has it all - a glamorous job as a political speechwriter, a Manhattan duplex, and a handsome boyfriend, Congressman David Weyburn, whose integrity, charisma, and good looks have made him his party's rising star. But her fabulosity fizzles when scandal strikes, and Tessa watches helplessly as her seemingly happy love life and successful career collapse like a house of cards. Tessa realizes it's time to embark on a new journey, one she should have made a long time ago. It's a trip that takes her to the Emerald Isle and back, leading her heart in unimagined directions. She makes new friends, unexpectedly adopts a new family (or do they adopt her?), and discovers unanticipated love with silver-tongued, green-eyed, aspiring pub owner, Jamie Doyle. And, most importantly, Tessa makes that uphill climb over the rainbow to find the ultimate pot of gold: Herself

The author spends lots of time on political views of the Main character that bored me to tears. There just seemed to be WAY to much politics in this book for me. This is the typical successful woman that has it all and then finds even more! That is all I got to say about the book. I honestly do not think I could recommend this book to any of my friends.

Bargain Books that I now know why they were Bargains

Women on the edge of a nervous breakthrough by Isabel Sharpe

The Description:

Welcome to Kettle, Wisconsin, a town where everyone knows nothing bad ever happens.
Enter Lorelei Taylor-notorious, glamorous, and hot off a not-guilty murder verdict that stunned the nation. To the women of Kettle, bad things seem suddenly inevitable . . .
Sarah Gilchrist-A perfect house and garden can't quite make up for a marriage that's a wreck. Sarah is determined to rise above her opinion of Kettle's dreadful newcomer and give her a perfect welcome. But in the face of Lorelei's outrageous provocations, Sarah's control starts to unravel.
Erin Hall-What her husband does to her behind closed doors stays hidden. But Lorelei's acquittal gives Erin hope for the first time. Convinced Lorelei did kill her abusive lover . . . and got away with it, Erin thinks she may have some power after all.
Lorelei Taylor-In Lorelei's eyes, peaceful, heavenly Kettle could not look any more like hell. She vows to shake up the town-smug, priggish Sarah; mousy, downtrodden Erin; and while she's at it, her widowed neighbor, Mike. Except the harder she shakes, the more the shake-up is happening to her.
Sometimes the only thing women on the edge need . . . is a push.

I had mixed feelings about the book. It was a fast read for me. There was one character who was a victim of domestic violence that disturbed me a bit. It was nothing descriptive or anything but well for me personally that subject is touchy. BOOKS of Fiction just make it all seem easy and that in the end NO matter what GOOD will prevail. Most of the time these women end up in prison the rest of their lives. The Main Character was acquitted of murder and then the Character Erin idolized the main Character and then she did the same thing to her abusive husband. The small Town police deemed it an accident and all the Characters ended up living Happily Ever After! I only payed 2.99 and honestly I am glad that I did not pay the $13.95 price for this book. I also would recommend that anyone in an Abusive Situation NOT read this book because this is not a solution that needs to be put in any one's mind no matter how bad the situation is. OK that is all I am saying about this work of Fiction.

Ghostwalk by Rebecca Stott

This is what the book is about.

Set in present-day Cambridge, but entangled with the 17th century, this is at once a ghost story, a love story and a beautifully told history of 17th century Cambridge - as well as a four-hundred year-old murder mystery in which Isaac Newton is a suspect. The son of a reclusive historian finds his mother's drowned body in the tributary of the River Cam that runs through her garden. She is clutching a glass prism. Elizabeth Vogelsang's magnum opus, a book on Isaac Newton's alchemy, is incomplete. Lydia Brooke, a writer friend of the dead historian, returns to Cambridge to the funeral. It is five years since she has seen Elizabeth's son, Cameron Brown, with whom she has had an intermittent love affair that began some fifteen years earlier. Cambridge, she discovers, is in the midst of an upsurge of attacks by animal rights extremists, an unidentified group called NABED. Cameron, who, as a neuroscientist uses animal experimentation, has been targeted. Cameron asks Lydia to act as a paid ghostwriter in the completion of his mother's book, Alchemist. Lydia agrees to the proposal and moves into Elizabeth's strange house, a triangular shaped studio on the banks of the Cam. Soon Lydia finds herself entangled, not only with Cameron, but also with a four-hundred year-old murder mystery, a network of 17th century alchemists and a ghostly figure intent on disrupting her work.

I finished the book and I do not hate the book but do not love the book. At times it was very boring and the ending was a bit far fetched for me (but then again I liked twilight...hmmm....so talk about FAR FETCHED). Anyway there was a lot of information about Sir Isaac Newton that I have never really given much thought to. This is not a book to just recommend to anyone and I do not think the masses of my book club would really enjoy reading this book. I have to see a book all the way to the end even when I felt like throwing it across the room. It DOES NOT MOVE very fast and there is so much detail and history.

OVERALL I think I would give this a TWO STAR rating.

I seem to be in a reading FUNK (did Twilight do this to me?) because lately all the books I have picked have been like pulling teeth. Seriously at times I wanted to throw this book across the room.

OK SOMEONE....tell me a good book to read! I have 114 unread books on my shelf and NONE look like something I really want to read right now!

Help a girl out and recommend a to DIE for book that I can not put DOWN!!!

Pleasures of the Night and Redemption!

I finished Reading a Book Called Pleasures of the Night by Sylvia Day. I had NO idea who this author was or what her writing style was.

Synopsis
In the Twilight between sleep and consciousness, a battle rages between Dream Guardians and Nightmares. Captain Aidan Cross is a legend, as skilled in fulfilling erotic dreams as he is with the glaive that kills his enemies. Women see Aidan as part of their fantasies . . . except Lyssa Bates. Exquisite, desirable, enigmatic Lyssa perplexes this immortal seducer because she sees him as he really is. And as he attempts to unravel her secrets the unthinkable occurs: Aidan Cross falls in love.
Lyssa has been having the most incredible dreams about a man whose blue eyes hold the promise of decadent pleasures and tempting intimacies. And then he appears on her doorstep! This intoxicating stranger is just as irresistible as the man of her dreams . . . but with her surrender there is also grave danger . . .
Because Aidan is on a mission, and the passion that consumes them body and soul could have dire consequences. Loving the mortal woman prophesied to destroy Aidan's world is not only impossible . . it is forbidden.

OK that is the Synopsis of the book. I thought OK what the HECK I would read it. WELL let me tell you this book HAS some very explicit Language. THE F BOMB is dropped LOTS and the SEX SCENES are close to SOFT PORN. YEPPERS that is what I just finished reading.

SO to REDEEM MYSELF I RAN to my bookshelf and pulled out a BEVERLY LEWIS BOOK. THE REDEMPTION OF SARAH CAIN. I want to see this movie but I had to read the book first. This is a good book and is also typical Beverly Lewis reading. I really did NEED to read this after my interlude with some HOT SMUT reading I had been doing!

OVERALL both books were not BAD. The Sylvia Day book is a book that YOU MIGHT want to read to YOUR HUSBAND when the TWO of you are ALONE. IT truly did border on soft porn fantasy. There is a second book in this Series and I might have to read the second one just to see how the stories unfolds....when I am feeling a little naughty and rebellious...this will do the trick for sure. IT is most defiantly NOT something to RUN and declare to your book club that YOU READ! TRUST ME THERE!

The Redemption of Sarah Cain is something to have your book club read. There would be lots of discussion on family relationships and religion. IT is a down to earth book. IT is a fast and easy read and one that is full of life lessons. IF you like Beverly Lewis you will like this book.

I am now starting a book called Ghastwalk by Rebecca Stott.

Happy Reading Everyone!

Nights In Roadanthe

I finished this book and was disappointed with it. I really loved Nicholas Sparks and I am not sure why this book did not do it for me. HE is one of the very FEW MALE Authors that I enjoy. I have a hard time with Male authors. I honestly like Female Authors better. I wanted to read this because of all the HYPE about the MOVIE. I really hope the MOVIE is MUCH better than the book. The book was typical and you guessed the whole plot. The Main Characters daughter's Husband passes away and the Daughter is not doing well. She thinks nobody understands her loss and her MOTHER sits her down to tell the Story of her great loss. The book was a fast read but just not something I would jump up and down about. Maybe I needed to be sitting on the BEACH at the OUTER BANKS to really enjoy this book!

Recent Books

I am currently Reading Nights in Rodanthe because I have to READ the BOOK before I ever see the MOVIE! So far the book is going quickly. It is only 222 pages anyway. IT seems OK but for some reason I am not in love with the book yet. I am on page 92 and I already am predicting why the Main Character is telling the Story to her Daughter who just lost her Husband.

The BOOK that is in my CAR (I keep a book always in my car for emergency READING....LIKE CAR POOL LINE, When the kids fall asleep and I park in the Driveway while they nap...just kidding) is called Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim by David Sedaris. IT is SNARKY! LOL LOL

I just finished up The ALMOST MOON BY ALICE SEBOLD. I totally DID NOT love the BOOK or really want to finish it but I am a FREAK and I feel that I HAVE TO HAVE CLOSURE....yes I have to finish the book even if I hate it. I SEE the FLIPPING THING TO THE END!

I was feeling like I needed a VAMPIRE FIX since it is OCTOBER after all and OK THE REAL REASON IS THAT I FEEL LIKE I REALLY NEEDED A TWILIGHT FIX! I have the book THE HISTORIAN and it looks so good that I wanted to save this book for another time......LIKE SAVORING THAT GOOD BOTTLE OF WINE! SAVOUR IT! SO I picked up two CHEAP YOUNG ADULT VAMPIRE BOOKS! I CAN SEE PEOPLE LAUGHING AT ME RIGHT NOW! ONE was called VAMPIRE ACADEMY by RICHELLE MEAD. IT is the first in a Series....so I read it and it was OK and HONESTLY it did not really HELP me with my DESIRE for a TWILIGHT FIX! I am such a JUNKIE! SO then I decided to pick up the 2nd book in the Series which is called FROSTBITE and it is OK NOT great but NOT as bad as ALMOST MOON. I can not honestly believe I preferred a YOUNG ADULT VAMPIRE BOOK over an ALICE SEBOLD book but I did. I guess I am just in a weird place right now.

I CURRENTLY HAVE 114 BOOKS in MY HOUSE that I have not read. I had them all arranged in the ORDER as to how I wanted to READ them but I have gotten side tracked with VAMPIRES of all THINGS. NOT really I think I just wanted light reading NOT heavy ready that hit to close to what is happening in the REAL WORLD!

With all that being said....THE SHACK.....has anyone read it? DO you like it and what are your Thoughts? This book is becoming very popular and tons of book clubs are using right now. I opted out of my book club for the moment because it was not something I wanted to read this month. The book has a child murder in it and right now I did not want to read about that. MY BEST FRIEND told me that you just know about the child being murdered that the Author keeps it light. I will read it one day maybe but right now with 114 books to read already I just do not want to buy it.......UNLESS of course it comes to my FAVORITE little BOOKSTORE that I stalk. THE MONEY spent at this book store goes to EMORY for Cancer Research and some of the books are from .99 cents up to 6.99! This place rocks big time. The book that we are going to read for the very first MONTH is called Angry Houswives eating Bon Bons by Lorna Landvik.

The New Book Club decided to pick this book because it was about a book and thought it would be a wonderful start to a brand new adventure for all of us this year!!!!!

I copied The below description from Amazon about this book!

The five women each have a story of their own to tell. There's Faith, the newcomer, a lonely housewife and mother of twins, a woman who harbors a terrible secret that has condemned her to living a lie; big, beautiful Audrey, the resident sex queen who knows that good posture and an attitude can let you get away with anything; Merit, the shy, quiet doctor's wife with the face of an angel and the private hell of an abusive husband; Kari, a thoughtful, wise woman with a wonderful laugh as "deep as Santa Claus's with a cold" who knows the greatest gifts appear after life's fiercest storms; and finally, Slip, activist, adventurer, social changer, a tiny, spitfire of a woman who looks trouble straight in the eye and challenges it to arm wrestle.Holding on through forty eventful years—through the swinging Sixties, the turbulent Seventies, the anything-goes Eighties, the nothing's-impossible Nineties—the women will take the plunge into the chaos that inevitably comes to those with the temerity to be alive and kicking. Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons depicts a special slice of American life, of stay-at-home days and new careers, children and grandchildren, bold beginnings and second chances, in which the power of forgiveness, understanding, and the perfectly timed giggle fit is the CPR that mends broken hearts and shattered dreams.

OK AND GUESS WHAT I DO NOT HAVE EITHER OF THESE BOOKS ON MY BOOKSHELF!!! WHAT ARE THE ODDS THAT I WOULD HAVE HAD AT LEAST ONE OF THE BOOKS? WELL NOT MANY HONESTLY BUT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE!

OK so I am off to acquire these two books this weekend. I liked them. It moved fast and I can see how appealing these books have been. I can also see this becoming a series on TV and have a cult following...sort of like Buffy the Vampired Slayer and Charmed. The books are fast moving . The Main Character Bella sometimes gets to me. I love the Vampire Edward and I think he is my favorite Character in the Books. Well that is all that I am going to say because I know some people have not read them yet and I do not want to spoil things.

Fisnished Eclipse

OK I Finished Eclipse and am half way through Breaking Dawn. I finished in two evenings after the KIDDOS went to bed. I can see that this would be a popular book among young girls. I can also see that it will have a following like Harry Potter. I have the other books on the way and will hopefully finish up the series soon.

Now on to other book news. I had a MINI MELTDOWN (meaning I needed some ME time) and left my Husband Last Saturday Night at home and off I went. NOW where DO I go when I have a MELTDOWN? First I went to BOOKS A MILLION and walked around to CENTER myself. I then found two books I wanted and PAID for those and then got a bottle of water. I sat down and checked my books from Front to back.

Next I drove over to BARNES and NOBLES! Yeppers that was my next stop! I found TWO more books there and I had a sweet treat! I should not have but I did! MY BAD. I went home around 11 pm and felt much better.

Some random thoughts on the way home:

1. I really must must think of a intervention because now I have OOO what 70 or 75 books to read? Yeah something like that. HMMM

2. I would like to operate a book store and SELL First Editions and Hard to FIND and RARE BOOKS. BOOKS signed by the authors and such. In this BOOK store there would be comfortable places to unwind and HEY lets stay open until 1 or 2 am! Yeah! OO GOOD TEA is a MUST also! OK COFFEE TOO! A LITTLE TEA ROOM with DAINTY little sandwiches would be NICE!

3. I have four new books to add to the LIST.....HMMM what was I thinking!

4. HMMM the bookstore was like my form of YOGA....it totally centered ME!

5. I should write a review about Twilight but I will say that I enjoyed reading it. It was quick and not lots and lots of details which SOMETIMES I LOVE and other times I need a break from those kinds of books. I sometimes really just want the MEAT and POTATOES and not all the other side dishes! FOR ME this book was what I needed right now. It was not long and heavy. IT was LIGHT and AIRY!

6. I found a Clearance book called the Historian and bought it. I did not realize it was about Vampires until I got home. HMMM what is up with that? I totally did not get that from my quick glance at the back of the book. WELL I will see how that goes but according to some reviews it is a bit scary.

Well that is enough random book thoughts for today.

Welcome

I love to read! I decided to make this new blog about the books I am reading and would like to read.

Yesterday I received a box with few New BOOKS. One is called The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox by Maggie O Farrell. The Main Character owns a Vintage Clothing Shop and RIGHT there without reading any further about the book I decided to get it. Well not really the REAL FACTOR was that BARNES and NOBLES have a clearance section on their website and right now they have books as LOW as $1.99! IF you buy $25.00 your shipping is FREE! They SHIP QUICK and to drive to my nearest B&N is 28 miles one way! GAS GAS (I have a SUV) or buy enough $1.99 books to get to my $25.00 dollars for free shipping! SO what do you think a BOOK LOVER DID?

I also decided to get TWILIGHT by Stephenie Meyer. I got my kids in bed and decided to pick a book to read. This VAMPIRE book sort of casted a seductive spell and I decided to go with it. I got to page 200 and I DID NOT WANT TO PUT THE BOOK DOWN. I looked at the clock and it was 2 am. I am not kidding I really really got in to this BOOK! I will have to write more once I finish this book and probably order the OTHERS!

Off to get my chores done and let darkness settle so I can put my kiddos to bed and curl up with my VAMPIRE BOOK!
